*This 3D medical animation describes PCOS, polycystic ovary (ovarian) syndrome.*The animation begins with the normal anatomy and physiology of the ovaries, including the effects of certain hormones on the ovaries during the menstrual cycle. Then, what is known about the pathophysiology of PCOS is shown, including abnormal amounts of specific hormones and how they cause certain symptoms, such as infertility, acne, and abnormal hair growth. Treatments for PCOS are described, including hormonal birth control, anti-androgens, diabetes and fertility medications, and laparoscopic ovarian drilling.

It’s pathetic. Honestly, I’ve tried multiple “second opinions” and all I get is the same result. I honestly hope you get through to your doctors as I can’t seem to!
im the same age as you and was just diagnosed and was freaking out because thats all i ever wanted was children but my best friend told me she has the same thing and she had a beautiful baby girl at 30 so my hope is restored! I am also suffering from depression and my friend also suffers i wonder if there is something about that…
Me too. but don’t remove your facial hair now cuz if you did it’ll grow thick.like guys.Try homeopathy as it has no side effects but allopathic medicines will hav severe side effects in the future..besides homeo has helped me….i had lot of acne and hair on my face but homemade remedies has cleaned my skin….Try a teaspoon turmeric powder mixed with a spoon of honey, and apply the paste on you skin overnight…it may be uncomforatble but it helpes rid hair and acne on your skin!!! π
I had PCOS when I was in my 17, suffered from depression, irregular periods and hairloss since then, still I am a mother today….take BC pills for 3 months, once you stop them, the chances are that you will get pregnant, also try the diet I recommended below
life is poopy today, but that doesnt mean you cant look at the stars tonight and see a rainbow when the time comes for baby dust to do it’s magic. Be hopeful
I am not having my menstruation 2 years after i gave birth to my daughter, 8 months straight and then my menstruation came because i was instructed by my ob gyne to take PROVERA, then i took pills for 3 months. My menstruation became normal until i stopped taking pills. Now, this coming may 19 will be my 1st yer anniversary of not having menstruation. Am i going to die? I have PCOS as i was informed by my doctor. I feel so depressed because i dont know what to do.
Metformin is the generic name for Glucophage. It can help w/ PCOS/PCOD. If you’ve been dx’d get on a good forum online and go to a specializt in PCOS. Too many ob/gyn’s don’t know the best plan of action.
I am 23 and I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 14; I have been treated with many medications but the result is temporary……… THERE IS NO PERMANENT CURE FOR THIS DISEASE…. I have lots of hairs. I did electrolysis on my face….. huh.. π
i am affected from pco & its detected b4 3 yrs…..my doctor instructed me nothing will be the complications but TO REDUCE WEIGHT, since it itself forms a non pharmaological medication….am in treatment now guys
True I am a teenager and my doctor said if I loose a good amount of weight I will have normal periods if not he will put me in the pill gonna start a diet the thought of not having kids in the future scares me
I have PCOS too and didn’t have my period for 3 years because of extreme stress in my last job. I got hormone therapy by my doctor which didn’t help first, but after I changed my job to a less stressier and happier place the therapy kicked in and I got my cycles back! Still had 3 misscarriages because of a different condition, but I am pregant again now and everything is fine! Don’t give up folks, we are lucky to live in a time where we have possible treatments for infertility. You are going a mom even with PCOS, just don’t give up! π
Haven’t had my period for 2years, this week it finally came IT FEELS LIKE HELL OK! I actually like not having my periods even tho I know it’s bad to not have any, but still :/
