I just found out today I have PCOS. I am 23, overweight and always have been since I was very young. I have worked out more then an hour a day and ate next to nothing for carbs and bad fats and lost very little. I played AA hockey and always been an active person but never seemed to loose anything. It has been an uphill struggle my whole life.

My Doctor first thought I had PCOS at the beginning of this month but did not give me any information about what she was getting me tested for. I also never went to a Doctor since I was 10 years old. I figure I’ve had PCOS for a few years now with the symptoms I have experienced. I went to have a full physical and pap and left knowing I was being tested for something called PCOS. I looked it up when I got home and was shocked and I have finally thought I have some answers for how I feel.

My Doctor sent me for blood work, the whole fast for 14 hours deal. I had my ultrasound today which confirmed I have PCOS. My biggest concern is will the chance of having a child get worse the longer I wait or what? I know I can work on reducing the symptoms and by loosing weight it will help out.

I don’t know how to feel about it yet.
